Background

Marcus Sterling is an Independent recording Artist  and Songwriter originally born and raised in Indianapolis, IN. After graduating Brownsburg HS (Brownsburg, IN), he went on to continue his Love for the game of football on a full athletic scholarship at NAIA University of Saint Francis (Fort Wayne, IN). Marcus later went on to Drop out of USF in his first semester due to his chronic battle with depression where he went on to find his new love for creating music. Since....Marcus has relocated to Tampa Bay, FL and has been dedicated to creating a release for those who battled similar battles.

Though Marcus was dedicated to his football career early in life, Marcus was always keen on music to help him mentally focus on mental health. Therefore, his music is hard to categorize as one genre. Growing up with a single mother allowed him to spend extra time with his grandparents who introduced him to the likes of Glenn Miller band and the Jazz of the 40s to Motown and the irresistible groups like The Temptations. Marcus' mother and late father also carried a love for music and later exposed Marcus to the sounds of 90s Hip Hop and R&B as well as the upbeat rhythms of alternative rock and pop music in the early 2000s. Later in life Marcus went on to expand the horizon within his friends group and giving an open ear to classic rock music and even Metal. Now his main goal is deliver his messages while using characteristics of all his earlier influences.
